Freezer Burn

Drago has returned after another 2 month hiatus with a new team centered around Kyurem White. Kyurem White is a Ice Dragon type with a massive special attack stat of 170, which is higher than Calyrex Shadow Rider by 5 points, which is what initially drew me to using this Pokémon. Kyurem is also bulkier than Raging Bolt, with higher physical defense at 90 and special defense at 100. I believe that Kyurem is a good option as a anti meta Restricted option. This is due to its ice typing offensively being strong into a lot of the top dogs in the format, including Rillaboom, Raging Bolt, Koraidon, Miraidon, and Kyogre. There are only a few things that can stop it from clicking Blizzard and doing heavy damage to the opponents team. It also get's a very interesting offensive type combo with access to a 100 base power fire type move Fusion Flare, Reshiram's signature move. Kyurem is strong on the snow archetype, which is one of my favorite archetypes to run. Before a unlucky freeze happens lets dive into the team.

Kyurem-White @ Assault Vest
Ability: Turboblaze
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 172 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 76 Spe
Modest Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Blizzard
- Fusion Flare
- Earth Power
Kyurem is the star of the show. Kyurem is the restricted choice on the team, being able to deal massive damage and be a very hard Pokémon to remove quickly.
Overview/Strengths:
This Kyurem runs Tera Fire to resist steel and fairy type damage, and it boosts the damage of Fusion Flare making it STAB.
Turboblaze is better Mold Breaker, for example you can ignore Tera Shell from Terapagos, unlike Mold Breaker.
Freeze Dry allows Kyurem to hit water types like Urshifu and Kyurem for super effective damage instead of having Ice and Fire moves being resisted.
Blizzard is Kyurem's beat spread attack and a part of the reason the team runs snow. Blizzard will always hit if snow is up and Blizzard hits the opponents very hard, as the move is 110 base power.
Fusion Flare is the "signature move" of Kyurem White, which is a strong damaging option into steel types like Zacian, Zamazenta, and Gholdengo who resist its ice moves.
Earth Power allows Kyurem to hit Fire types, the only type that resists Ice and Fire coverage (Freeze Dry makes up for the opposing water resistance).
Assault Vest is the item of choice here, this allows Kyurem to have both a 50% increase in special and physical defense when snow is active. This item allows Kyurem to eat Astral Barrage and Water Spout way better than it would otherwise.
76 speed evs (125 speed) are to allow Kyurem to out speed max speed Jolly Incineroar, which can lower Kyurem's special attack. It also speed creeps anything running 124 speed.
Max special attack evs and Modest nature to maximize damage without needing a damage boosting item, and the rest of the evs are dumped into HP to get additional value out of Snow and Assault Vest.
Weaknesses:
Koraidon can cause issue's as it has Orichalcum Pulse, which puts up sun and increases its attack, which can be a problem for Kyurem who has weaker physical defense. Collision Course always OHKO's (without snow or veil) due to it doing more damage upon a super effective hit.
Zamazenta is actually Kyurem's worst matchup next to Koraidon. Zamazenta gets access to Wide Guard which can prevent Kyurem from attacking with Blizzard, and Body Press threatens major damage (OHKO's without snow or Veil) which can be followed up for an early kill.
Kyurem cannot protect due to the Assault Vest. It is susceptible to Fake Out from Rillaboom and Incineroar and cannot scout for Tera or avoid getting killed at low HP.
Wide Guard can an issue as it can cause Kyurem to not be able to click Blizzard.
Weather control can cause Kyurem to miss blizzard and lose its defense boost, Teraform Zero and Air Lock also can make it miss.
Notable Calcs:

Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 84 HP / 132 Def / 84 SpA / 4 SpD / 204 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Icy Wind
- Aurora Veil
- Helping Hand
Kyurem's partner in crime. Ninetales boosts Kyurem's defense with snow and boosts the teams defenses with Aurora Veil.
Overview/Strengths:
Ninetales has Tera Water to resist water steel and fire moves.
One of the main reasons Ninetales is on here is because of its hidden ability Snow Warning, which sets up the snow.
Moonblast is for general damage, notably good for Urshifu and Koraidon.
Icy Wind allows a form of speed control without needing Tailwind.
Aurora Veil is the other main reason for running Ninetales. Aurora Veil sets both Light Screen and Reflect at the same time but must have snow up to be set.
Helping Hand allows Ninetales to boost the damage of its partners along with being able to dodge Fake Out as this Ninetales is not running protect.
Light Clay makes Aurora Veil last for 8 turns instead of 5.
Ninetales hits 170 speed, which out speeds Landorous Incarnate and Ogerpon speed creeping Landorous.
Weaknesses:
Ninetales is weak to priority taunt and weather control as it can't set Aurora Veil and also loses the defense boost without snow.
Ninetales does not hit very hard, it will not be taking many kills and can suffer from "all my friends are dead" syndrome.
Ninetales being faster than most of the weather setters limits your leads, if the setter is slower they get weather.
Notable Calcs:
252+ Atk Tera-Water Urshifu-Rapid Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 84 HP / 132 Def Ninetales-Alola in Snow on a critical hit: 108-132 (67.9 - 83%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Poncho (Ogerpon-Wellspring) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Level: 50
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 204 HP / 76 Atk / 12 Def / 28 SpD / 188 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Horn Leech
- Spiky Shield
- Follow Me
Ogerpon returns again, being the offensive support role on the team. It offers redirection and hard hitting water attacks with Ivy Cudgel.
Overview/Strengths:
Locked Tera and Item, Water Tera increases its special defense with a new ability Evory Aspect and powers up Ivy Cudgel. Evory Aspect is very good to handle things like Chi Yu and Flutter Mane.
Water Absorb lets Ogerpon absorb water hits from Urshifu and Kyogre and heal off of them.
Ivy Cudgel is its primary attacking move, 100 base power and has a higher chance to crit. Bonk!
Horn Leech allows it to recover some HP and keep itself in the game longer.
Follow Me allows Ogerpon to redirect attacks like Surging Strikes and Behemoth Blade and redirect Spore and Parting Shot away from its partners.
Spiky Shield is better Protect, if hit with a contact move it does 1/8 of the attackers HP. Good to punish Fake Out.
General bulk to allow Ogerpon to stay alive longer, out speeds Landorous Incarnate and Chi Yu.
Weaknesses:
Cannot hit dragon and grass type Pokémon as they resist Ivy Cudgel and Horn Leech.
Scarf Urshifu Rapid Strike and Rillaboom can chip down Ogerpon with U-Turn.
Intimidate weakens its damage output.
Notable Calcs:
116+ Atk Rillaboom Wood Hammer vs. 204 HP / 12 Def Ogerpon-Wellspring in Grassy Terrain: 145-172 (80.1 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Incineroar (F) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 156 Def / 68 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Parting Shot
- Will-O-Wisp
- Fake Out
The king of VGC himself once again, Incineroar returns to do the same thing it always does. More damage reduction allows Kyurem and its partners to stay in the game longer.
Overview/Strengths
Safety Goggles blocks Spore and Rage Powder from working on Incineroar. It can then do what it wants onto the Pokémon next to (usually) Amoonguss.
Intimidate lowers the opposing active Pokemon's physical attack, allowing its partners to live more physical hits.
Tera Ghost allows Incineroar to win the Fake Out war against another Incineroar or Rillaboom without needing to be faster. Also help's Incineroar into Koraidon and Zamazenta by becoming immune to fighting type moves.
Knock Off lets Incineroar take off Clear Amulet from physical attackers like Calyrex Ice Rider and Groudon. Then it can Intimidate them later or Parting Shot them to further lower their offensive power. Knock Off can take off other items like Choice Specs or Life Orb.
Parting Shot increases the amount of damage reduction Incineroar can apply to the opponent, it lowers both physical and special attack of the targeted Pokémon.
Will-O-Wisp burns the opposing target, which halves the damage of the physical moves on the opponent's Pokémon.
Fake Out causes the opponent to flinch, giving its partner more room to do what it needs to do, like Ninetales setting Aurora Veil.
Weaknesses:
Urshifu Rapid Strike does not care about intimidate, Incineroar will usually go down to a Surging Strikes which always crits.
Incineroar cannot Fake Out ghost types like Calyrex Shadow Rider or Flutter Mane. It also cannot Fake Out anything with Covert Cloak like Tornadus or Terapagos.
Incineroar doesn't take very hard hitting special attacks well, Landorous Incarnate and Miraidon can remove Incineroar quickly.
Notable Calcs:
156+ Atk Urshifu-Rapid Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 156+ Def Incineroar on a critical hit: 180-216 (89.1 - 106.9%) -- approx. 18.8% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Hadron Engine Miraidon Volt Switch vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Incineroar in Electric Terrain: 177-208 (87.6 - 102.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

Ursaluna-Bloodmoon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mind's Eye
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Blood Moon
- Earth Power
- Protect
Bloodmoon is the second big powerhouse of the team, being able to do massive damage with Life Orb boosted spread attacks and a nuke button with Blood Moon.
Overview/Strengths:
Life Orb allows Bloodmoon to do more damage.
Mind's Eye lets Bloodmoon hit ghost types with normal type moves, meaning it can hit Flutter Mane and Calyrex Shadow Rider with Blood Moon and Hyper Voice.
Tera Normal allows Bloodmoon to do even more damage with Hyper Voice and Bloodmoon.
Hyper Voice is Bloodmoon's spread move of choice. General damage.
Blood Moon is Bloodmoon's nuke button attack. It's a 140 base power move that cant be used twice in a row. Crazy move. Tera Normal Bloodmoon can OHKO most things in the format that don't have AV or resist normal.
Earth Power allows Bloodmoon to hit the 1 type it doesn't hit for neutral being steel.
Protect is Protect it Protects you.
Weaknesses:
Weak to special moves due to it being frail on the special side.
Bloodmoon is very slow without tailwind and can't out speed Scarf Urshifu, Scarf Chi Yu, Zacian or Calyrex Shadow Rider.
This Bloodmoon is a bit weaker to Trick Room due to it being max speed.
Rillaboom can take out Bloodmoon pretty easily if it has Assault Vest.
Notable Calcs:
+1 252 SpA Tera-Fairy Calyrex-Shadow Rider Draining Kiss (Tera 60 BP Boost) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: 129-153 (68.2 - 80.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Miracle Seed Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna-Bloodmoon in Grassy Terrain: 134-162 (70.8 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252 Atk Sword of Ruin Chien-Pao Icicle Crash vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: 158-188 (83.5 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Tailwind
- Protect
Whimsicott is the Tailwind seter of choice, and is a major pest for the opponent to remove.
Overview/Strengths:
Focus Sash allows Whimsicott to always take 2 hits.
Prankster makes every status move +1 priority, which includes Tailwind and Encore.
Tera Ghost allows Whimsicott to dodge Fake Out.
Moonblast is for general damage, similar to Ninetales.
Encore forces the opponent to use the same move again for 3 turns. This is a great tool to pressure the opponent into clicking something else or to punish the opponent for clicking something like Fake Out or Rain Dance.
Tailwind doubles the speed of the Pokémon on your side of the field. Useful to out speed the opponent.
Protect is Protect, it Protects you.
Weaknesses:
Whimsicott doesn't do a ton of damage.
If taunted it can't really do that much for the team.
Whimsicott is still frail even with sash, it can easily be killed with a follow up attack.
Whimsicott cant do much to Farigiraf as it has Armor Tail, which blocks Priority.
Leads:
Kyurem+Ninetales if they don't have a form of weather control or against Koraidon. If they lead a Fake Out user Ninetales can dodge it with Fake Out as veil can become a problem for the opposing team. This also works into Calyrex Ice Rider as you can kill Pelipper (a common CIR partner) quickly to gain weather control for the rest of the match.
Kyurem+Incineroar works if they do have weather control, Incineroar can parting shot turn 1 to let Ninetales in safely or it can Fake Out to let Kyurem do damage safely.
Kyurem/Bloodmoon+Whimsicott works if you need immediate speed control, against an opposing Tailwind team you can mirror the Tailwind and then Encore the Tailwind setter with Whimsicott. If they don't lead tailwind you get to attack first with Kyurem or Bloodmoon.
Incineroar/Ogerpon+Ninetales is good to try and get a veil up early. Incineroar can Fake Out a threat to Ninetales. Ogerpon can Follow Me to redirect damage into it instead of Ninetales.
Bloodmoo+Whimsicott/Incineroar can work into Calyrex Shadow Rider. Hyper Voice gets damage off on it quickly with Tailwind or Fake Out something threatening Bloodmoon to allow it to get damage.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the team!
